What is Soka?

How to pay for fuel
SOCAR reservation change and cancellation fee
1. Socar usage fee
Socar is charged per kilometer of travel distance. The distance traveled is calculated by GPS, and the company charges for gas based on the fuel efficiency measured by the vehicle type. The fee is paid in two installments.
First, payment when making a reservation for Socar
Amount to pay: rental fee, vehicle damage exemption product (insurance)
Rental fee: Rate for renting a car per hour
Vehicle damage waiver product: This is the indemnity that the member will bear in the event of an accident.
Second, payment when returning Socar
Amount to pay: Driving fee, Hi-pass fee
A rate per kilometer is charged according to the distance traveled.

Points to note when making a reservation
Even if you cancel the original reservation and make a new reservation, you cannot pay the same amount as the original reservation. Socar says that the price may change because the price changes according to conditions such as vehicle type, region, Soca zone, day of the week, time, peak season, and off-peak season.
Discount tips when using Socar for a long time
A 50% discount on rental fees is applied to members who have signed up for Passport membership.

If you pay 29,900 won as an annual fee, you can get a discount when renting Socar.

4. How to pay for fuel

You can pay with a petrol card located on the windshield in the driver’s seat.
Socar will bear the cost of refueling paid with a gas-only card.
EV charging
For electric vehicles, when paying for electric vehicle charging, select a membership card in the payment method and contact the Socar charging card.
Socar charge card location: It is attached to the driver’s seat sun visor.
Please note that if you paid with your personal card when charging an electric vehicle, the charge is non-refundable.
Rapid charging: 40-60 minutes / Slow charging: 9 hours
Expressway fees when using Socar
All Socar vehicles are equipped with Hi-Pass terminals.
If you use the High Pass section, you will be charged along with the driving fee when returning the pass.
If you do not use the High Pass section and pay in cash on the highway, you will not be charged when returning the pass.
5. How to change Socar reservation and cancellation fee
How to change your reservation
After reserving a vehicle, it is possible to advance the rental time or extend the return time in the Socar app. It is not possible to change the entire reservation time.
However, when renting a car, changing a return location, changing a vehicle type, or changing an insurance exemption product, you must cancel the reservation and make a new reservation.

Socar app > Menu at the top left > Usage history > Select the reservation you want to cancel > Cancel reservation at the bottom of rental information

The cancellation fee is calculated based on the normal rate of the discounted amount for both the rental fee and the vehicle damage waiver product.
There is no fee if you cancel within 30 minutes of completing the reservation and payment, but a fee will be charged after the rental time starts.
